Ethel Brewer-McCane Executive Director, Playwright, Artistic Director Ethel Brewer-McCane is a graduate of Indiana/Purdue University-Indianapolis and the Defense Information School of Military Journalism & Public Affairs. Ethel one of the founders of Midtown Writers Association has published several books of poetry and written and produced several musical dramas. She founded the Interchurch Performers Drama Ministry, is founder/director of PraiseStage Productions (a multi-denominational theater company) and director of the Barnes United Methodist Church Drama Ministry. The writer-director also performs “one-woman" storytelling experiences, entitled "The God of Black Women" and “Mary Bateman Clark: Woman of Color” (a genealogical presentation about her great, great, great grandmother). In 1990, she was commissioned by the Indiana State Board of Health and Human Services to write and produce a musical drama about AIDS in the African-American community (entitled Dead Wrong), which was subsequently produced into a video presentation by Indiana Black Expo to be used around the country. As a writer and instructor, she has facilitated numerous drama and communications workshops and has spoken throughout the country and abroad Ruby Anderson President For more than 30 years, Ruby has been involved in the educational pursuits of both youth and adults throughout the community as a librarian for the Marion County Public Library System. As chief librarian for the Brightwood Branch, she was responsible for organizing numerous training programs, seminars and other educational presentations for thousands of library patrons throughout her career. Recently retired from a vibrant career as a librarian, she is presently the faith-based Organizer of Martindale-Brightwood Community Resurrection Partnership (CRP) Program (a coalition of clergy, churches and various
